A good day starts from the very moment you open your eyes. This means that a lot of things have to be considered before going to bed the day before because a bad morning could mean a bad day or days.
These simple daily routine could help you set out with a calm spirit ready to conquer the world without even trying.
- BE PREPARED
The key to a successful daily run comes with a lot of work before the day. If you would be heading to work, a hangout, church, or any form of gathering it is important to plan days before. Once you have everything you need to set the day rolling, your outfit ironed, your car keys in the right place, your documents, and every other item, it becomes very easy to just transition without feeling out of place or scattered while planning to set out for the day.
2. SLEEP WELL:
It is easy to miss this part most times, because of the demands of work and family sometimes even the road network in your city. However, being fully rested from the previous day gives you a sense of refreshment and with loads of energy to crush, your set goals for the day. Thus, try to always sleep for 6-8 hours daily.
3. BEAT YOUR ALARM:
We are sure no one really likes the sound of their alarms no matter how nice they sound. To avoid feeling booted out from a trip to wonderland in your sleep, try to be an early riser. Be alert at least 10-15 mins before your alarm goes off.
This feels like you hit a jackpot every time you do. There is no better feeling than having the sense of a winner just immediately you get out of bed.
4. BE GRATEFUL
You can never get it wrong when you wake up feeling very grateful for all the things that have made it into your life. For family, friends, the highs, lows, and those in the middle. Yes sometimes, things are not as we have planned, but a sense of gratitude helps you set off on an optimistic note and nothing beats optimism when it comes to setting off or planning a day.
Your body deserves some measure of pampering and kick-in when you wake up. 20 ropes, 2 reps of jump-jacks, and burpees will certainly work wonders without the need for much space. This sets your body in motion for the day’s activities also. So do not make excuses, just work that body every morning when you wake-up fitness is a great part of calmness.
6. STAY AWAY FROM YOUR PHONE:
Sometimes the first thing that comes to mind is to check your phone for pending conversations and emails, but the truth is that you should stay away from your phone; certain times you could get bad news that would ruin your day. Use that time to meditate on the day ahead. It is best to let your day pick before you touch that phone.
7. HAVE A TO-DO LIST:
This may look like a random thing to do, but creating a calendar filled out with all your activities for the day gets you rolling with a plan in focus.
It is also important to stick to this list because the execution keeps, you in focus and rested as all activities are well-thought-out before being carried out and nothing meets you suddenly or creates a cause to panic.
8. A CUP OF COFFEE/ TEA NEVER GOES WRONG:
You have to rush out, skip breakfast to beat the gridlock in your city, but certainly, you could get something light for the road.
A cup of coffee or tea with a slice or two of bread would not be a bad idea to kick-start your day. An empty stomach could lead to a grumpy day if you are working under a tight schedule or you end-up in a meeting that outlives its expectance period. Always brace your stomach before you leave your house daily.
9. NEVER FORGET TO LAY YOUR BED:
Yes, it is easy to claim that you are in a hurry to leave your room, but laying your bed is as good as planning for the next day two days before it. This seems like a mere Passover when considering how it could make your day calm, but it does. A plus to this is the fact that you also have time to turn off head or bed lamps and basic appliances in your room before you set out. Trust us; there is a high sense of calmness that comes with being organized before setting out for the day.
10. GET A PLAYLIST THAT MOVES YOUR SPIRIT:
It could be a list of motivational speeches, a collection of poems or spoken words, classics, or just about the kind of songs and tunes you would like to listen to when you are having a bad day. This would help set the pace for your psyche as the day rolls in.
