If you run a start-up, you must have figured that there are many other businesses doing the same thing you do. Hence, you must focus on how to make your business grow by attracting people, engaging them and converting them to loyal customers. Agreed?
Great!
Now, one of the best ways to do this is by taking advantage of influencer marketing.
We aren’t asking you to go and look for celebrities by all means. Here’s our definition of influencers.
Influencers are simply people who have a considerable audience size that trusts them. They do not have to be celebrities, but learning how use them to your advantage can help you get more people to trust your business.
Now that we’re on the same page, here’s what you should do.
Find the right influencers
It is essential that you find the influencers who are ideal for your industry and business.
Who is this person? How relevant is he or she in your industry? How well does this influencer engage his or her audience? Does this person align with my brand identity?
Once you do your homework properly, you are closer to reaching more people and expanding your business.
Start with micro influencers
There is a craze to get celebrities to endorse brands. While this is great, we don’t advise that a start-up pursues this at the beginning. Instead of using a celebrity, find a micro influencer whose niche works for you and has a loyal fan following between 1000 and 100,000 followers who are very engaged.
According to a study by Experticity, micro–influencers, are engaged in 22% more buying conversations (including product recommendations) than any other influencer. In fact, the same study found that 82% of people are highly likely to follow the recommendations of a micro-influencer.
Do you know why this is possible? Micro-influencers are able to develop personal connections by engaging with their audience and this does not happen with macro-influencers who have much larger audiences.
Launch social media takeovers
Social media takeovers are a popular tactic in influencer marketing and we recommend that you use them to promote your brand.
By operating and posting on behalf of your brand, influencers can garner their followers’ attention and thus increase your brand reach and awareness
