Fun And Educative Ideas For Your Children This Holiday!

Holidays can be a great time to bond with your children and maybe even let your own inner child come out to play. However,  it can also be a stressful time when kids can misbehave because of boredom. It’s best to put a little bit of advanced planning into the summer holidays and prepare yourself with an arsenal of activities to keep the little ones out of mischief.

Below are fun and educative activities you can consider:

  • Engage with them with board and interactive games: 

Games are the most innovative & fun way to interact with your little children. Besides reducing their screen time, these games will enhance their creativity and analytics thinking. Games like these include- Pictionary, Dumb charades, Monopoly etc depending on the age group.

  • Learn an instrument: 

Playing an instrument boosts self-esteem and having ample time in hand is a golden opportunity for the little ones to learn any instrument of their choice.

  • Reading habits

This is an excellent time to encourage a passion for reading in children. Reading is one of the best summertime activities. Engage your kids in reading interesting stories and novels. Spending an hour every day helps to improve their reading skills, helps to gain knowledge, increase vocabulary, etc. Listening, speaking, reading and writing skills can be improved through reading books. In every aspect, reading is beneficial for your children as it enriches their language on the go.

  • Creative Art

Holiday is a good time to motivate children to do art. Whether it involves telling stories, writing them, drawing, or making things, it is the time to let kids release their creativity.

  • Get close to nature: 

If you have access to a garden, you can let your children plant seeds and watch them grow. Planting is a great skill-building activity. If you have room, let your kids plant fruit trees, vegetables or flowers. For smaller spaces or apartments, many of these can even be grown in containers! Let them get involved in choosing the plant and let them be responsible for weeding, watering and other maintenance.

  • Cooking and baking: 

Kids these days like to contribute in various activities and this helps boost their confidence when they’re being appreciated for performing small tasks. Engage your child in baking/cooking activities, make them do the measurements which will enhance their critical thinking and brush their concept.

  • Watch Movies:

Lazy afternoons can be turned interesting by watching movies that are appropriate for the age bracket of your kids. Popcorn and lemonade would be a good accompaniment.

  • Arrange play dates:

Arranging play dates with cousins, neighbors and friends is another fun thing to do during the holidays. Moments spent together with families and friends are always priceless and memorable.
